Lamy is a small, historic community located about 10 minutes south of I-25 and 30 minutes from the Santa Fe Plaza. The community centers around the Amtrak train station and spur line from Santa Fe. The community features classic, old adobe homes and single/double wides on smaller lots with moderate tree cover and the surrounding area features newer homes on multi-acre, moderately hilly lots with some tree cover. Mountain views vary from moderate to excellent, depending upon elevation and tree cover. Architectural style is predominately Pueblo.

The village of Lamy sits at the base of and across the Galisteo River from Cerro Colorado where the stone for the cathedral in Santa Fe was quarried in the 1800’s. Train passengers leaving from or arriving at Santa Fe use the Lamy train station. There is a mixture of quaint old houses and newer traditional and nontraditional structures.
